Robert Ottaviano is 17-year member of the Glenwood Fire Company.

A Glen Head resident was elected to serve as director of the Firemen's Association of the State of New York (FASNY), the organization announced Tuesday.

Robert Ottaviano was chosen by unanimous decision at the organization's 140th Annual Convention in Syracuse on August 17.

Ottaviano, a certified public accountant, brings to the position a solid background in finance and tax matters as well as business leadership, a statement from FASNY said.

He is also a longtime member and former president of the Nassau County Firemen's Association.

He has a significant list of memberships in various other fire and finance associations, including one in the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
