Here's what's happening in Glen Cove today.

While rain is expected for most of the day, there is plenty to do in Glen Cove today. Looking for a sporting event, a library activity or just want to know what's going on in your city today?  Here's what's on deck:

1. There is something for everyone at the Glen Cove Public Library today. Take the young ones, 2-3 year-olds with adults, down to the Children's Room at 10 a.m. for an interactive toddler story time. For the voters in the family, stop in at the Community Room 7 p.m. for the Julie McCann informational meeting on changing term for Mayor.

2. The Glen Cove Animal Lovers League is hosting a 16th anniversary dinner at the Swan Club in Glenwood Landing tonight.

3. Big Red Sports: Check back on Glen Cove Patch for a sneak peak at this week's football game against Plainedge with Football: Week 6 Preview. Can't wait until Saturday for your Big Red fix? Head down to Carle Place this afternoon at 4:30 to cheer on the girls volleyball team.

5. Weather permitting, the The Glen Cove Fire Department and the Glen Cove Downtown BID continue to host Cruise Car Night every Thursday through November, from 5-10 p.m. on Bridge Street. Show off your classic or custom auto on streets closed to traffic, meet other car lovers, and enjoy downtown's dining and entertainment options.
