Photo of the Day: Best Feast in the East

Patron Saint carried through streets of Glen Cove.

Over 300 dedicated volunteers donated many hours of their time to help raise funds for the "Best Feast in the East" at St. Rocco's Church – a small, unique Italian parish in Glen Cove.

Despite an early closing the first night and a few showers Friday night, thousands of guests arrived in the city to enjoy this much anticipated summer event. There were record crowds beyond belief.

Ongoing since 1974, with the exception of last year, this Italian Feast drew folks not only from Long Island, but New York City, Queens and all over the US.

Former local residents who have since moved away returned from as far as Texas and California to join in this very traditional celebration.
