Photo of the Day: Boy Scouts Go Camping

Troop 6 recently traveled to New Jersey for a camping trip.

Glen Cove Boy Scout Troop 6 recently visited Alpine Scout Camp in Alpine, NJ. The scouts spent the weekend tent camping, hiking, climbing, and cooking over open fires.

The highlight of the weekend was expert indoor instruction in climbing on the twenty foot walls of the Alpine’s Gary I. Laermer Activity Center followed by a try at the 32 foot tall outdoor Climbing Tower, according to Troop 6 Assistant Scoutmaster Tom Marinaccio.

The Scouts hiked Alpine’s famous ‘Red Circle Trail’ and made a short hike into the adjacent Palisades Interstate Park to view the Hudson River from the Cliffs.
