Photo of the Day: Flag Day

Glen Cove's flags fly to commemorate the adoption of the stars and stripes as the nation's official symbol.

American flags lined Glen Cove's streets and adorned porches and monuments throughout the city Thursday in honor of Flag Day.

The day of commemoration was officially established by President Woodrow Wilson on May 30, 1916 to recognize the adoption of the original version of today's red, white and blue insignia by Congress on June 14, 1777.

Do you really think the illeagals in this town care about Flag Day! I put my flag out every day ( unless it's raining of course ) On my block there is two of houses, including mine that fly the American Flag. There is some blocks that don't have any flags out. There should be more love for this country considering immigrants risk their lives to get here. And respect our culture by standing up during the Pledge of Allegiance.
