PHOTOS: Glen Cove Car Show Shuts Down School Street

Showcase open to all; runs every Thursday from 5 - 10 p.m.

Glen Cove Cruise Night held its second gathering of shiny and exotic cars in the heart of the city's downtown Thursday in a series that will continue each Thursday until the end of September, according to city councilman Nicholas DiLeo.

The weekly event kicked off on May 3. DiLeo, who displayed his own car that day, said proceeds will go toward the Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department and its upcoming 175th anniversary celebration.

The fee is $5 per car, he said, and anyone with a car they'd like to enter may contact the fire department at 516-676-0366.
