Photos: Severe Weather Tears Through Glen Cove

Heavy rain and winds took down trees and flooded streets on Tuesday.

Strong winds tore down trees in Glen Cove on Tuesday, while heavy rains flooded the city streets.

responded to three weather-related reports on Tuesday, said Chief Anthony Tripp: a primary wire down on Hemlock Lane, a power surge on Hill Street and a water flow alarm on Charleston.

The call from Hemlock Lane came in at 1:45 p.m., after a tree took down a wire in a resident's backyard, Tripp said. The wire burnt through the fence and ground.

While the fire department wasn't called to every scene, there were several incidents of unreported fallen trees throughout the city streets.

Patch braved the storm, scouting out damage throughout Glen Cove—from trees down on Dosoris Lane, to smashed fences on Walnut Road, t0 a flash flood  on Cedar Swamp Road.
