Shelter Animal of the Week: News Anchor Discovers Kitten

This beautiful feline was discovered by 1010 WINS News Anchor, Susan Richard.

Bridgette is a beautiful, spunky Grey Tabby who was found as a stray under the 59th St. Bridge in New York City. Her long, bushy tail is eye-catching to visitors. She even has an interesting background story.

1010 WINS News Anchor Susan Richard discovered Bridgette. She continues to document the animal's progress on her Web show, All for Animals. Richard tells how she found, trapped and brought Bridgette to the Glen Cove Animal Shelter.

Born to a feral, or unsocialized, cat, she has taken big strides in becoming domesticated.

"She has come a long way," said shelter staff regarding the feline. "She was a frightened little kitten running around in the construction area when [Richard] found her."
