Tell Us: Potholes in Glen Cove

Snow may be gone from the streets of Glen Cove, but potholes are opening up in its place. Where are the worst?

Just as apples and striped bass have their prime season, so too do potholes. They are predictable, unavoidable and a sometimes dangerous rite of passage on Long Island.

These gravelly, asphalt mini-graves are the scourge of any commute, spilling coffee and jarring your teeth at every opportunity.

Snow piles are still visible two weeks after the blizzard of 2013 slammed the region. Freezing and unfreezing of asphalt creates stress. Roads also took a beating from snow plows scraping and pounding the pavement as they cleared roadways.

The net result: roads around Glen Cove need fixing.

Patch is on a quest to uncover the roadways and intersections with the worst potholes. So sound off in the comments section and sound the alarm. Your car – and that minivan full of kids on the way to practice – will thank you.

And don’t forget to check our Glen Cove traffic map, powered by Mapquest.

I think the best course of action would be to contact any board member (their emails are listed) andRead More see what he or she has to say about it. That's one source that I would find reliable on this.
