Updated: Mayor's Snapper Derby Set for Sept. 17

The at is set for Saturday, Sept. 17, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The annual Snapper Derby invites children ages six to 16 years old to bring along their own rod and reel for the event. The derby has a Junior Division for children ages six to 10 years old and the Senior Division is for children ages 11-16 years old.

First, second, and third place trophies are presented to participants in each division, as well as the “Best Angler.”  Each participant also receives a Glen Cove Mayor’s Snapper Derby tee shirt, hot dog, soda and a raffle ticket for prizes.
