Video: Flash Floods and Fallen Trees

Severe weather tore through the streets of Glen Cove on Wednesday.

Fallen trees strewn about the streets, residential fences smashed, flash floods: these are the results of Wednesday's severe rain and wind storm in Glen Cove.

While it was certainly tempting to camp out in Starbucks all day, sipping Peppermint Mochas to the sweet holiday tunes of Josh Groban, I decided to brave the storm.

After a day of scouring the streets for destruction, I was able to pinpoint the areas with the most .

A flash flood, seen in the video here, disrupted traffic on Cedar Swamp Road at 3:30 p.m. after a storm drain backed up. 

Chief Anthony Tripp said that the responded to three weather-related calls today: A wire down in a residential backyard on Hemlock, a power surge on Hill Street and a water flow alarm on Charleston.

I ended the day soaking wet, with a ruined pair of boots, but relatively unscathed.
