Rising Temps Bring Hot Car Warning

What is the maximum amount of time you would leave someone in the car with the window cracked?

You are on your way home and you need to grab one thing from the supermarket, but you have the dogs in the van. You park in a shady spot and crack the windows before hustling inside, straight for the aisle where you know your item is, then to the cashier.

It is not an uncommon scenario, despite an abundance of warnings about how quickly the temperature can reach dangerous levels inside a car under such circumstances.

Last week, Town of Oyster Bay supervisor John Venditto about the threat posed by parked cars left with occupants on hot days.
