Winter Fest and Tree Lighting Nov. 30

Join the Glen Cove Downtown BID in welcoming the holiday season with the 2013 Winter Festival and Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday, Nov. 30. The festivities will take place in Glen Cove Village Square at the intersection of Glen and Bridge Streets around the beautiful tree donated by the Ahern Family, and illuminated by Joseph Basile Electric Service. The schedule of events is as follows:

1:30 PM Horse & Carriage Rides Begin, Photos with Santa (one per family)

3:45 PM Last carriage ride loads 

4:00 PM Performance by the Glen Cove High School Jazz Band-

4:45 PM Community Candle Lighting Ceremony, benediction by the Rev. Betsey Simpson, the Honorable Ralph V. Suozzi presiding

5:00 PM Santa arrives by Fire Truck, Tree Lighting

Refreshments sponsored by Henry’s Confectionery and Luncheonette, Gold Coast Business Services, Atria Glen Cove, and Starbucks. The Glen Cove Downtown BID thanks the Glen Cove Beautification Commission, the Glen Cove Department of Public Works, National Grid, and the Glen Cove High School DECA students for their volunteer hours assisting at the Festival. They also wish to thank Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department, the Glen Cove Auxiliary Police and Glen Cove Volunteer EMS.
