Spinello Victory Sealed with 74 Votes

Independence Party challenger wins mayorship after absentee ballots counted Wednesday night.

Reggie Spinello, an Independence Party member, has sealed his victory for the Glen Cove mayorship against incumbent Democrat Ralph Suozzi by 74 votes, according to the Nassau County Board of Elections.

The final tally including absentee ballots counted Wednesday night comes in 3,433 to 3,359.

A slim 115 vote difference brought Spinello to apparent victory against Suozzi in Nov. 5 elections.

Incumbent Democrat Nicholas Dileo kept his seat on City Council, beating out Republican candidate Kristina Heuser. City Council is now split down the line with three Republicans and three Democrats.
