86th Annual Daily News Golden Gloves

This Wednesday, February 13, at 8:00 PM, the 86th Annual Daily News Golden Gloves returns to Glen Cove!  This annual event, the premier tournament in the sport of amateur boxing, is once again hosted by the Glen Cove Boxing Club and the City of Glen Cove Parks & Recreation Dept.

Come see exciting boxing action in both novice and open divisions, including both men's and women's bouts.

Doors open at 7:00 PM and bouts start at 8:00 PM.  Tickets, available at the door, are $20.  Glen Cove High School students with valid ID, will be admitted for free.

Proceeds from the event will be used to fund a scholarship for a graduating Glen Cove High School senior, as well as cover operational costs for the Glen Cove Boxing Club.  The Glen Cove Boxing Club, located next to Glen Cove Head Start on Carney Street off of the arterial highway, is open 6 days per week at no cost to Glen Cove residents.  Certified amateur coaches train young athletes in both fitness and The Sweet Science.
