How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents, by Julia Alvarez

Presented by Maria Fernanda Pardo

Wednesday, December 5, 7pm

Join us at the Glen Cove Library for a discussion, in Spanish, of the book How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents from acclaimed author Julia Alvarez. A novel based on her own experience, it tells the story of four sisters’ struggle to assimilate a new culture in New York City in the 60’s, after having to leave a privileged life in their native Dominican Republic.
