Through the generosity of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock, the support of the Glen Cove SAGE Foundation, the combined efforts of the Glen Cove Senior Center staff and our surrounding communities, the Campaign Against Dementia's Brain Fitness Program invites you to join us as we reach out to our Nassau County residents and become advocates for better brain fitness.  Enjoy our guest speakers, scheduled as follows at 130 Glen Street, Glen Cove:


January 17 - Beverly P. Horowitz, PhD, OTR/L, LMSW, BCG, FAOTA, Professional Geriatric Care Manager                Learn how to maximize brain health by engaging in basic physical activities and exercise, learning something new, participating in social activities and managing stress.


January 24 - Spencer Gee, award winning, visionary Instructor at All Powers Training                                Learn how Tai Chi can contribute to your physical and spiritual health, as well as improving balance and relieving tension.


January 31 - Kathie Flynn, Director-Glen Cove Library       No more “shuusssh.”  The library is now the place for learning and entertainment.  Learn about the myriad programs now offered at your local library.


February 7 - Dr. Rosemarie Cartagine, Nutritionist; owner, Cartagine Chiropractic and Wellness                Nutrition can be a key element in brain health.  Learn how food can affect the brain, with a      focus on which foods to eat and which ones to avoid.


February 14 - Robert Friedman, owner, Stress Solutions; Author, Speaker/Trainer, Psychotherapist           Learn the constructive and enjoyable relief from tension that can be achieved through the positive dimensions of humor, laughter and play.
