New Exhibit at North Shore Historical Museum - Opening and Presentation: The Photographs of Arthur Leipzig

"Next Stop, New York"

Arthur Leipzig is an American photographer perhaps best known
for his
photo essays on New York life in the 1940s and 50s.
Focusing on
Leipzig’s urban street scenes from this time period,
a new exhibit at
the North Shore Historical Museum presents
thirty of his black and white
photographs. This acclaimed
photographer exemplifies the spirit of
American photojournalism
in the mid-20th century.

Join us the evening of Saturday, April 5th at 7:00pm as we
celebrate the opening of this special
exhibit with a light
reception and a presentation to be given by artist
and author,
Joan Harrison, Professor of Art at LIU Post. Formerly a
student
in his photography classes, Harrison will discuss the career
and
influence of Arthur Leipzig.

Program fee is $10.00 for the general public,
$5.00 for Museum members.

Please call to RSVP, as seating is limited. Contact Director
Colleen
