The event requires registration and is presented by the New York State Parks and Recreation Department.
The boating course will be taught in four sessions by former Coast Guard Auxiliary members. Participants who attend all four sessions and pass the written test will receive a license from Albany permitting them to operate a powerboat. It will also provide a state certification for operation of personal watercrafts for $10 (for those 18 and over). For more information, call the library.
