Youth Bureau Kicks Off Thanksgiving Food Drive

Non-perishable goods and monetary donations accepted through Nov. 22.

The Glen Cove Youth Bureau recently kicked off its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive at SoccerFest. SoccerFest families generously donated Thanksgiving staples to the annual drive.

Each year, the Youth Bureau provides Thanksgiving dinner to over 100 Families in Glen Cove. The Youth Bureau will continue to collect donations through Nov. 22.

In addition to Thanksgiving staples, the Bureau also accepts cash donations and gift cards to local supermarkets, the proceeds of which are used to cover shortfalls and purchase meat for the families. Frozen turkeys are also accepted during the week of November 18.

Non-perishable donations may be brought to the Glen Cove Youth Bureau (128B Glen Street) or to the Glen Cove Public Library between now and November 22.

If you are interested in making a cash donation, please make checks payable to “Friends of the Glen Cove Youth Board” and mail to Glen Cove Youth Bureau, c/o Thanksgiving Collection, 128B Glen Street, Glen Cove, NY 11542.
