Photo: Teen Becomes Eagle Scout, Honored at City Hall

Brendan Rogers earned 39 merit badges to become an Eagle Scout.

Assemblyman Charles Lavine, left, recently presented Brendan Rogers, a member of Troop 6 in Glen Cove, with a citation in recognition of his earning 39 merit badges to become an Eagle Scout.

Rogers completed a major community service project for the SCO Family of Services collecting and filling backpacks with personal care and recreational items for foster children. He is a freshman at the University of Virginia where he is pursuing a degree in Engineering.

The Eagle Scout ceremony took place at Glen Cove City Hall. Rogers is also joined by his parents, John and Cindy, in the photo.
