A Soldiers Gift of Song

A Native Glen Cove soldier and a Native Glen Cove 9/11 widow, reunite after 30 years…their mission…Save the Memories!

I feel this story has to be told because it is filled with miracles.

Ronald Seaman AKA “Spider” and I were both born and raised here, in the great city of Glen Cove. We both attended and are graduates of the class of ’79.

Thirty some odd years have come and gone and we recently reconnected on Facebook and got caught up with each other’s lives. Ronald has recently retired from the U.S. Army, a veteran who served our country for 25 years. Being retired, he is now able to focus his full attention onto his passion, his passion for making music and sharing that gift with the world.

I am a 9/11 widow and when I filled Ronald in on what happened he so kindly offered to compose a song for me. Then in turn this beautiful song was created. The song is filled with heartfelt lyrics and soulful music for two extraordinary human beings, my husband Edward and a close friend of Ronald’s, a FDNY who lost his brother Timmy, who was also a FDNY.

Being a 9/11 widow I belong to several organizations, one being the 9/11 Memorial Museum. So as it stands this beautiful song and its lyrics are now a part of the Memorial Museum in dedication to my husband Edward and Timmy. So here it is, a solider comes home after experiencing the horrors of war and takes my pain and loss and turns it into something that will be treasured for generations to come.
