This paper proudly announces its endorsement of Efraim Spagnoletti who is running as a candidate for a seat on the Glen Cove City Council. Mr. Spagnoletti is a former compliance analyst at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. While there, he determined the financial solvency of publicly traded companies. His ability to identify their financial deficiencies makes him an asset to the governance of the City of Glen Cove. We need a strong leader at this time who can guide our city to its former glory.
His platform is refreshingly clear: balance the budget, attract new businesses, and transparency in government. Mr. Spagnoletti will not support an unbalanced budget since this would be a reckless disregard of his fiduciary duty to the taxpayers. He supports development projects that benefit taxpayers and not special interests. He would work with the Glen Cove Industrial Development Agency and state representatives to attract new businesses to this city (e.g., financial services, biotechnology, and software development). He is a strong advocate of limiting the use of nonpublic “executive sessions” and recording all city council meetings for public review.
As a young man, he has demonstrated unbounded energy in this campaign. He is seen everywhere, no matter how small the event, shaking hands and introducing himself. He is always willing to talk policy issues and provide solid solutions. In short, he is not a political insider--he’s the real deal. He understands he is not as well known as some of his running mates; for this reason, he has devoted a considerable amount of time to starting his “listening” campaign very early. Mr. Spagnoletti has been seen walking neighborhoods since June and listening to the people’s concerns. He is always ready to provide solutions to their complaints.
