Oyster Bay Historical Society to Honor Contributors

Several Long Islanders will be honored Tuesday night by the Oyster Bay Historical Society.

This is a first-ever annual awards program to honor individuals across Long Island who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to historical preservation and education.

The ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Woodlands in Woodbury. 

Among the honorees is Jim Foote, who portrays Theodore Roosevelt at Sagamore Hill. Another is Kerriann Flanagan Brosky, an author, historian and investigator of ghosts who blogs on Patch.

Others being honored are:

Thomas Abbe, Sydney Alexis Adams, Carmine Auriemma, Bill Dieffenbach,
Tim DiPietro, Laura Dougherty, Denise Evans-Sheppard, Geoffrey Fleming, Adam Grohman, John Ellis Kordes, Nancy Leghart, Cate Ludlam, Paul Mateyunas, Nancy Melius, Brian Merlis, Rick Smith and Yesenia Vasquez.
