John Head, Former Glen Cove Resident, Dies at 69

John Head, a generous, genuine, and loving soul, departed this life on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the age of 69.

Known as “the professor” to his classmates growing up, John was a repetitious honor student in Glen Cove, New York’s schools and often blew people away with his academic accomplishments and athletic abilities, lettering in football, wrestling, and track. John served in the United States Air Force as a radar repair technician and weapons control specialist. 

As an active duty airman for four years during the Vietnam War, John served in Texas, Colorado, California, and Okinawa, Japan as well as an additional two years as an inactive reservist, ultimately receiving an honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant. John attended colleges in Wisconsin and California before graduating from the City College of New York with a BS in computer science. 

Tremendous success followed working as a computer consultant, Advisor, and specialist, programming in different languages, with various software, and across many platforms to analyze data and produce solutions for many major corporations. John was a man of vast knowledge and was surrounded by loving family and friends from all walks of life who adored him.
