City Decides Crecent beach to costly to monitor.
The city has decided that it will be to costly to monitor the bacteria levels at crescent beach.
"Crescent Beach, at 2.5 acres, is Glen Cove’s smallest. The city leases it from North Country Colony homeowners association. In 2004, the city leased the beach for 99 years in return for road maintenance. "

Previous tests show the bacteria is either human or animal.
The city should refuse to maintain the roads, and hold the homeowners association responsible for testing until the homeowners association finds which home or homes are polluting the harbor and have the issue resolved. Beach closure is not the only issue here, as all other water front communities are trying to clean up the harbor, Glen Cove is just sitting by letting a few homes dump their raw sewage right into it.
I say the city should save its money for lawyers and take this homeowners association to court.
