Community Corner

Pamela Donaldson Panzenbeck for City Council

I would like to endorse my mother, Pamela Donaldson Panzenbeck, for City Council.

There are some wonderful people running for City Council, but none of them match my mother's combination of charisma, determination, hard work, and concern for the community. Call me biased, but I'm sure you'll hear the same thing from the many people whose lives she's touched over the years. Despite being a full time educator and treasurer for the Levittown school district, mom found the time to work her way on to the committee of seemingly every volunteer opportunity imaginable. Whether it was the St. Pat's Fair, the St. Rocco's Feast, Blood Drives, or Parade Committees, mom went out of her way, nose to the grindstone, to make sure that these events were an absolute success. It's through her example(I confess- I was pressed into service on more than one occasion!) that I came to appreciate what a tight knit, wonderful community Glen Cove is.

Glen Cove is in trouble. We have serious debt. The downtown is a ghost town. Homeowners are worried. The current approach is not working. We need fresh ideas and fresh faces on the City Council. Specifically, we need people who are invested in the community and in touch with citizen's concerns. I can think of no one more dedicated to the community than my mother. I hope you'll consider her on Election Day!
