I didn't mind not having power, after all Irene was a natural disaster...These things happen. My kids unplugged from their technology filled lives. I liked that. We managed fine burning candles at night and going to bed early, (like farmers!) But, to be honest, and being prompted by the Question of the Day, the one thing I missed in three days of living like the Amish was COFFEE! Luckily there was a Dunkin Donuts with power on Cedar Swamp and on the second day of the simple life I found heaven in a styrofoam cup. I have never been a Dunkin' regular, but now it's my favorite!

I haven't been a coffee drinker until recently. Now I make my own. Nescafe Vanilla instant single packets. My creamer is Italian Sweet Cream by Coffee Mate. It's THE most heavenly tasting drink I've ever had. Simply amazing!
