God, Sickness and Death

A Christian take on God, sickness and death.

This is a very difficult subject. How does God fit in this equation? If God loves us, why do you get sick and die? Would a loving God not protect His children from pain, suffering or even from death?

For this, we need to learn more about God plan and purpose. If you have accepted God in your life, and accepted Jesus as your savior, you are already one-step ahead. You know that God is listens to all your prayers. One day you receive the news that you or your loved one is very sick, and might even die. You pray and pray, but nothing happens. These are painful and discouraging times in a believer’s life. How can you deal with this? How can you go on?

God is in heaven were there is no pain, no suffering and the promise of everlasting life. When we die, we become part of this promise. We go to heaven to be with our loving Father. This should be a joyful occasion knowing that we will have no more pain, never suffer or die. When you enter into heaven, overflow with His love, light and peace, and if it was possible to look down on earth and see all your loved ones below, wouldn’t you want to bring them into heaven?  What could be more wonderful? My personal believe is that we are going to be re-united with all our loved ones in heaven. All our tears will be tears of love and joy. However, we must be patient and wait until God brings us home. You might be tired, sad or feel alone, but you can live in the promise of His love, peace and joy, and everlasting life which is to come. No matter what your circumstances are today, know that for all who believe in Him, the real price is waiting in heaven. In this, we can find comfort and peace. God is always with you, and if your purpose for you being here on earth is not yet completed, you will be healed or enabled to fulfill that purpose. So pray for healing always, but know that our real focus and joy must be to know that one day we will be walking with Him in paradise.  If we lose someone we love, the pain is real, and will not go away. But time has proven that we slowly learn to live with this pain and it becomes a part of us. We can have comfort in the knowledge that our loved ones are home with God, and are living in love, joy and peace, and one day it is our turn.
