Nothing to Write Home About at the Food Stores - Gas at $4.09

The deals this week are relatively slim. Unlike other weeks, there are no deals on national brands of baking items, butter, diary, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, soda and other key categories.  Specials for the week include produce, paper goods (toilet tissue, paper towels), and some laundry soaps. Stop and Shop has some specials on pet foods. Also, remember that on Monday and Tuesday, Pathmark and Waldbaums have the 5 percent discount for "55 and above" shoppers.

Worth noting too is that CVS has some good values starting this Sunday. One might check their website over the weekend or look for the insert in newspapers.

On the fuel front, as of Wednesday afternoon, a Gulf station on Northern Blvd. and the City Line had gas for under $4.00.

Due to travel, next week’s Saleaway N.S. will be sent on Friday.
