Rescue workers responded to an alarm at a house on Elwood Street in Glen Cove just before 12 p.m. Monday where smoke was reported to have been visible, according to the .

There were no injuries, according to chief Matthew Venturino.

Rain poured on emergency workers and their vehicles as they blocked traffic on Ellwood Street between McLoughlin and Valentine Streets until the situation was resolved around 12:30 p.m.
