Bulb Duster Sparks Bomb Scare in Glen Cove

Glen Cove police and Nassau County Arson/Bomb Squad responded to an unusual incident at the 5 School Street movie theater Saturday morning.

A bulb duster left behind by an exterminator at the sparked a bomb scare early Saturday morning.

received a call at 5:30 a.m., from the movie theater at 5 School Street, when a 38-year-old female worker reported discovering a device that appeared to be a bomb, said officer Brian Miller.

"It was an exterminate device left behind under a seat the night before shaped like a pineapple," said a theater employee who asked not to be named. "Employees did the right thing but people with bomb experience should've known what it was. In the end everything was a okay."

Glen Cove police reported the unusual incident to Nassau County Police Emergency Service Unit and the Nassau County Arson/Bomb Squad. The Arson/Bomb Squad used a robot to remove the device and check the rest of the building.
