UPDATED: Car Fire Slows Traffic in Glen Head

Police and fire crews responded to a vehicle on fire at the intersection of Glen Head Road and Glen Cove Avenue Tuesday at 1 p.m.

There were no injuries after a car caught fire in the intersection of Glen Cove Avenue and Glen Head Road Tuesday just before 1 p.m., according to the Nassau County Police Department. 

Police and the Glenwood Landing Fire Company responded to the alarm and put out the flames. Traffic at the busy intersection was diverted past the scene while a tow truck was brought to remove the vehicle.

Police did not report any other vehicles involved.
