Car Spins Out in Glen Cove Road Accident

Driver was reported without injury after his car hit the guardrail, spinning out while heading south on Glen Cove Road Friday.

A car reportedly spun out after an accident Friday on Glen Cove Road, according to the Glen Cove Fire Department.

and responded to the crash around 11:20 a.m. A man, known to be the driver, was seen walking around, looking at the damage before leaving the scene in a police car.

The driver was heading south in a black, four-door, 300-series BMW when it struck the right-side guardrail, said Fire Deparment Chief Rodni Leftwich. This caused the vehicle to spin across two lanes and hit the cement barrier separating north and southbound traffic. The car was found facing north when officials arrived.

The debris field surrounding the wreck, according to Leftwich, was around 100 feet long. There were no other known vehicles involved in the accident, and only the driver was in the car at the time.

Two police and four fire cars, along with one fire truck, were at the scene.

No further details regarding the cause of the accident could be released at this time.

The BMW was flat-bedded by Apple Coach.
