Cops: 2 Charged in Theft at Glen Cove High School

Two New Jersey men were charged with burglary Thursday for an incident that took place at Glen Cove High School earlier this week.

Glen Cove Police say that the school was burglarized on Sunday evening, resulting in the loss of six iMac computers, a camcorder and a camera, worth more than $6,000.

On Monday, school officials contacted police about the theft. After an investigation, police arrested Jagdip Dhesi, 20, and Johal Chandeep, 19, both from Carteret, NJ, who police say were in Glen Cove attending the annual Sikh games held on the high school grounds.

The two men were each charged with two counts of burglary, and will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead Friday.

According to police, the stolen items were recovered during the investigation.

I hope that is the last time we let these large groups from out of town use our school grounds!!!!!

This is an unfortunate incident. I am hopeful it is an isolated one and not a reflection of the Sikh Foundation who have supported the GCHS student-athletes in past fundraising activities.

What complete $hitbags these two are! You're a guest and can't resist the urge to steal! How ironic isn't it? People in this community have this perception that the students who go there are thugs, thieves and what not meanwhile this kind of theft never happens.
