Cops: Missing Glen Cove Man Found

Police say the man is safe.

Glen Cove Police have confirmed that an octogenarian who had been reported missing from his home has been located and is safe. Police say he was found in Brookville Wednesday night.

Paul Stanco had last been seen on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at 4 McKinley Street. His family had called police when Mr. Stanco, who takes medication for diabetes and dementia, had not returned home when expected.

Nassau County Police had issued a Silver Alert late Tuesday night. The program disseminates information to local media, hospitals and other organizations when a senior citizen or other individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders goes missing.

Like Mr. Stanco, many of those reported missing are located.
