Cops: Man Drove While High on Drugs in Crash
Glen Cove resident arrested after state police discover him sleeping behind the wheel on a parkway with the engine running and drugs in the car.
A Glen Cove man was arrested Tuesday after state police responded to a one car accident scene on the Northern State Parkway near Hicksville and found him sleeping behind the wheel of a car while it was still in drive.
Cops suspect the resident was high on drugs during the time of the incident because a state trooper later found crack and marijuana in the vehicle.
According to state police, at around 4 p.m. that day, resident Tyrone Davis, 36, of Janet Lane, was asleep in the driver's seat of a red Nissan Pathfinder on the highway while the running car was stuck in the left lane of traffic with its front left tire wedged against a barrier.

After turning off the vehicle, police said, a state trooper discovered three aluminum foil wrappers in the jeep. Two were filled with a white rocklike substance, which police believe is crack, and the other contained marijuana.
Davis was arrested and charged with fourth-, fifth- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and DWI drugs.
