Crime Nearby: Two Arrested in Oxy Bust

Two people were arrested in Great Neck Wednesday after posing as medical workers seeking to fill an Oxycodone prescription, Nassau County Police said.

John Gleeson, 39, and Melissa Bizella, 32, both of Oceanside, were charged with first-degree falsifying a business record.

Police said the two first called in an order for the painkiller to the CVS Pharmacy at 1 Gussack Plaza and were arrested at 9:55 p.m. when they attempted to pick up the prescription. They posed as representatives of a medical office, police said.

Two Charged in Theft at Glen Cove High School

Two New Jersey men were charged with burglary Thursday for an incident that took place at Glen Cove High School earlier this week.

Glen Cove Police say that the school was burglarized on Sunday evening, resulting in the loss of six iMac computers, a camcorder and a camera, worth more than $6,000.

On Monday, school officials contacted police about the theft. After an investigation, police arrested Jagdip Dhesi, 20, and Johal Chandeep, 19, both from Carteret, NJ, who police say were in Glen Cove attending the annual Sikh games held on the high school grounds.

The two men were each charged with two counts of burglary. According to police, the stolen items were recovered during the investigation.

Old Bethpage Man Faces Menacing, Drug Charges

Nassau County Police have charged an Old Bethpage man with menacing in Saturday after receiving a report of a man with a gun at the Battle Row Campground in Old Bethpage. 

Police say they were called to the trailer park by the victim, 46, who said he had been continuously threatened by Francis Searles, 57, of 145 Haypath Rd., Old Bethpage.

Searles was seen driving through the campground Saturday despite a manager's demand that he not return to the area when he was evicted several months ago. 

A short time later, Second Precinct officers located Searles on Chicago Avenue in Massapequa, where they placed him under arrest at 1:20 p.m. That's when police discovered Searles in possession of cocaine, police said.  

A gun was not recovered, police said.

Searles was charged with menacing, drug possession and trespassing charges. 

Masked Bandits Rob Clerk at Gunpoint

Nassau Police are looking for two masked men who robbed a store clerk at gunpoint Monday in Hicksville. 

Second Squad detectives said the pair entered the Metro PCS store at 55 Broadway at 1:30 p.m. and demanded money. Both men were wearing bandanas to cover their faces; one displayed a black semi-automatic handgun. 

The bandits forced the 55-year-old clerk to lay on the floor as one of them took cash, first from the register and then from the victim. 

The suspects fled on foot, southbound on Broadway. No injuries were reported, police said.
