Crimes Nearby: DWI, Harassment, Counterfeiting

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau and Suffolk County Police Departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

Massapequa

1. A Central Islip woman was charged with driving drunk with three children in her car Saturday night, police said.

Ana Gonzalez, 43, was stopped in the parking lot of the at 11:27 p.m. Police had spotted a 6-year-old boy standing in the back seat.

When officers approached the car they found two girls, ages 6 and 2. The two oldest children are Gonzalez' son and daughter, while the youngest child is her granddaughter, police said.

Police said Gonzalez had been drinking and she was charged with three counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra's law, which makes it a felony to drive drunk with a child under 15.
She also faces a lesser DWI charge and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The children, who weren't hurt, were released to a family friend.

2. A Massapequa woman was charged with assault on Sept. 9 after an incident in a cab, police said.

According to police: Jillian Poole got into the the cab at about 5:15 a.m. on Clocks Boulevard near Merrick Road. She got into an argument with the driver, and allegedly hit him in the mouth with a beer bottle. The driver pulled the cab over, opened the door and ordered Poole to leave, when she smashed the bottle over his head and fled, police said. She was charged with assault.

3. Three people were arrested Sept. 18 in connection with the theft of plants at the Broadway Nursery, police said.

Cops received a call of a theft in progress at about 1:30 a.m. When they got there, they found three people throwing plants over a fence and loading them into a white 1997 Ford that was parked nearby, police said.

Police charged Yvonne E. Peterson, 36, and Paul M. Pizzitola, 35, both of Lindenhurst with petty larceny, while a third person, Eric J. Gonzalez, was found hiding between two flower beds. He refused to be handcuffed and was charged with resisting arrest, criminal trespass and petty larceny, police said.

Syosset

Angel Nunez, 19, was charged with criminal mischief at Mercy First in Syosset on Sept. 16.

Farmingdale

Ryanne Hunter, 23, of Laurelton, was arrested Sept. 10 in East Farmingdale and charged with second degree aggravated harassment and petty larceny. Reports indicate Hunter was charged with the theft of products from Walmart. Reports indicate Hunter also called another female and made threats.

Dix Hills

Suffolk County Police are stepping up patrols in the Half Hollow Hills area after at least three burglaries were reported on Sept. 21.

Homes located on Lincoln Avenue, McNulty Street and Aldus Place in Dix Hills were reportedly broken into and large items were taken, according to police.

The incidents occurred during the day. Members of the community have said two other homes in the area were burglarized as well, but police have not yet confirmed that information.

Police said that they will be increasing patrols in the area.

East Northport

Gaoqin Chen, 34, of Elmhurst, was arrested in East Northport on Sept. 17 and charged with third degree trademark counterfeiting and failing to disclose the origins of DVD recordings.

Garden City

1. A Nassau Boulevard resident reported that she had been awakened by a noise and then saw a man in the doorway of her bedroom.

She told the Nassau County police that the man told her he was looking for someone. She persuaded him to step outside the residence and then locked the door and called police.

Officers responded and found the 22-year-old man from Ozone Park, on the property of the residence, and charged him with burglary. He was intoxicated and had apparently urinated on the floor when inside the house.

2. Four lawn statues valued at $100 each were removed from the rear yard of a Kensington Road residence on Sept. 20.

Franklin Square

Police investigated Quick Stop Mini Mart on New Hyde Park Road. Harinder Singh, of New Hyde Park, was charged with selling an alcoholic beverage to a minor.

Rockville Centre

A complainant from Maine Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) debited $600 from her Chase account without authorization, reported Sept. 20.

A complainant from Lee Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) debited $1,006.00 from her Chase account without authorization, reported Sept. 20.
