Garden City

A Garden City man was arrested earlier this week after allegedly stealing merchandise from  and selling it on eBay while employed by the store.

According to Nassau County detectives, David Muscat, 22, while employed as a stock room clerk for six years for the Williams-Sonoma located at 630 Old Country Road, stole in excess of $200,000 worth of merchandise from the store.

Muscat would steal merchandise, hide it with the trash and would then remove the items and put them in his car located in the parking lot, police said.

According to police, Muscat had also opened an eBay account to sell items and gained a cash return through his Paypal account in the amount of $200,798.95.  Williams-Sonoma is claiming a loss of $453,444.66 worth of merchandise over a three-year period.

Muscat is being charged with grand larceny in the second degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree.

Mineola

Nassau County Police are investigating a rash of graffiti around Mineola, including defacement of  and Nazi imagery.

According to detectives, offensive graffiti including swastikas, “666” and a racist term were spray painted in red on the walls of Chaminade High School. A bus owned by the school was also defaced.

Massapequa

A man who was driving a BMW more than 100mph on the Southern State Parkway, was arrested for DWI, state police said.

Ray Robinson, 23, of Deer Park, was headed east on the Parkway and was stopped near the Bethpage Parkway exit after allegedly driving at 106 mph in a 55 mph zone at 4:41 a.m. Sunday.

A trooper smelled alcohol in the car and Robinson failed sobriety tests, state police said.

His blood alcohol content was .15 percent, almost twice the legal limit of .08 percent, according to police.

Robinson was charged with DWI and traffic violations.

A Massapequa man who police said approached teens near and touching their feet in an inappropriate manner, has been arrested.

Carlos Sanchez, 28, was charged Thursday with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The  first incident occurred Monday when two female teens told cops that a man approached them in Lincoln Street park and began to talk to them. He then allegedlyand wouldn't let go.

Shew was eventually able to free herself and Sanchez fled in a tan Toyota Camry, police said.

On Tuesday, he allegedly approached three girls, all under the age of 16, who were walking home from school and  removed one of their shoes. He looked at it and put it back on her foot and then asked the teens if they wanted a foot massage. 

Police released a photo taken during one of the incidents, and he was arrested with the help of Crimestoppers, police said.
