Port Washington

A complainant reported on Campus Drive on June 9 that a fire alarm was falsely activated and firecrackers were set off.

Garden City

Two 23-year-old women from Hempstead were arrested for thefts of handbags from Lord & Taylor on June 15.

A 29-year-old woman from Levittown was arrested June 20 for merchandise theft at Lord & Taylor and a 38-year-old woman from Hempstead was arrested the same day for theft at the same store.

Detectives arrested a 53-year-old man from Flushing for two counts of criminal contempt for the  violation of two Queens Court order of protections after threatening bodily harm to his ex-wife and her brother on Supreme Court Drive.

A man was charged June 14 with leaving the scene of an auto accident and falsely reporting that the vehicle had been stolen. Police said the man had driven the car into curbing and onto a lawn on Nassau Boulevard and then abandoned the vehicle, filing the false theft report at the Fifth Precinct stationhouse.

Plainview

An unidentified 20-year-old man walking on a street in Plainview was stabbed twice in the back June 21 in what Nassau County police described as a targeted attack. One wound punctured his lung and the other lacerated his liver. Two men were seen running away from the area.

Woodbury

Two engagement rings were stolen June 18 from the Mayfair Jewelers store in Woodbury. 

Melville

Jasmine Morrobel, of the Bronx, and Violet Smith of Antioch were arrested in Melville on June 15 on a charge of prostitution. 

Massapequa

Two cars were reported stolen in Massapequa last week, a 2007  Hyundai Sonata from the Sunrise Mall and the other, a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville, from a residence on McKinley Street.

Bellmore
A hole was cut into the fence at LIPA. It is estimated that the damage was caused between June 12 and June 15.

Wantagh

Linguang Wang, 52, and Yue Ping Ye, 49, both of College Point, Queens were arrested June 18 on Wantagh Avenue in Wantagh and charged with counterfeiting in the second degree and unauthorized recording of performance in the first degree.

East Meadow

An East Meadow woman was arrested last week and accused of stalking and harassment after her son failed to make an East Meadow Little League travel team, according to Nassau County Third Precinct officials. Police said that on May 21, Janet Chiauzzi, 44, allegedy sent letters "of a threatening nature" to an East Meadow Little League official and his son. Police said the letter also made threats against the victim's wife and daughter.
