As part of an ongoing investigation, detectives arrested the male 34-year-old Sunday in Brooklyn. According to a police department press release, detectives were already building a case where the subject was the main person of interest.

"The results of the lab testing confirmed that the DNA found on the cigarette was the subject’s," the release states. "The detectives attempted to locate the subject but it was determined that he had moved from his last known address in Hempstead. The detectives then determined that the subject was now
residing in Brooklyn. The detectives responded to Brooklyn, located the subject and placed him under arrest."

They said they could not comment on whether the remains included or head or what body parts were involved. Two Gilgo victims’ body parts were found a short distance from the newest discovery site in Manorville.
