Oyster Bay Man Killed in Crash on Northern State
The accident occurred Friday morning, police said.
An accident on the Northern State Parkway in Plainview Friday morning left an Oyster Bay man dead, authorities said.
New York State Police say state troopers were dispatched on Friday at 8:58 a.m. to the scene of the accident, which occurred on the eastbound side of the Northern State Parkway east of Sunnyside Boulevard.
An initial investigation revealed that a Mazda was heading east when its driver lost control and struck a Mercury before entering the center median and striking a tree, police said.
The driver of the Mazda, Nicholas Maniscalco, 27, was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to police.
The driver of the Mercury was uninjured, police said.
