Gregory Diaz, 45, of Glen Cove was arrested at his home Wednesday and charged with third-degree grand larceny, a Class D felony, following an investigation into unemployment benefits he collected in 2009, according to a New York State Police report.

Diaz is accused of unlawfully collecting $8,855 that year, according to police.

The case was investigated by the state police after it was referred by the New York State Department of Labor.

So what was the fraud? Was he working while collecting? Or using someone else's identity? So not a story, if you can't tell it right.

I urge all to report people who are collecting money from the State illegally. I understand that money is tight for all but condoning stealing is dropping a notch in society and a moral law that can't be reclaimed. i.e.,, case of cop spending hours and days at his girlfriend's while in uniform on duty and his bretheren covering it up. theft of taxpayer money.

This guy looks familiar. Still don't know what he did wrong. Maybe the fact that he's out of work, pissed off the authorities.
