Glen Cove Teen Arrested in Sea Cliff Car Break-ins

The break-ins occurred in June, police said.

An 18-year-old Glen Cove man was arrested Tuesday for a series of car break-ins that occurred in June, authorities said.

Nassau Police say Taylor Steed, 18, was arrested for break-ins that occurred on June 26 at 1 a.m.

According to detectives, Steed entered four unlocked unoccupied vehicles parked on Altamount Avenue, Cromwell Place, Dubois Court and Irving Place, and removed cash, electronics, clothing and an air compressor.

Bureau of Special Operations police officers arrested Steed at the intersection of Glen Cove Avenue and Walnut Avenue in Glen Head on Tuesday, police said.

As reported on Patch, Sea Cliff experienced eight car break-ins on June 26. Glen Cove Police have reported an increase in break-ins in the area, including 11 in Glen Cove in June. There was no word yet on whether Tuesday’s arrest was connected with those break-ins.

Steed is charged with four counts of petty larceny and scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
