MADD LI to Honor Police At Luncheon

Nassau and Suffolk Police among departments to be honored.

Nassau and Suffolk police will be among those recognized at the seventh annual Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) luncheon on Thursday, March 27. The event will be held at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury on March 27 from 12-4 p.m.

In addition to Nassau and Suffolk police, law enforcement from New York Police Department and New York State Police.  

This event acknowledges “the good work of over 70 law enforcement professionals from Montauk Point to New York City who have shown outstanding dedication to DWI enforcement, prosecution and education,” according to a press release.

This annual luncheon is a way to “thank those who are working so hard to keep our streets safe from the horrors of drunk driving,” according to MADD.

MADD’s National President Jan Withers will personally present the award to each recipient.

“MADD’s Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving endorses and encourages high- visibility law enforcement and continuing diligence on the part of our police, prosecutors and probation professionals,” Richard C. Mallow, MADD New York State executive director, noted. “This annual event is our way of saying thanks to those who dedicate their lives to this important work.”
