Man Arrested for Assault in Glen Cove
Incident took place on Craft Avenue, where police say a man assaulted his ex-girlfriend.
A 19-year-old man was arrested for an assault that police say took place in Glen Cove on Thursday.
Glen Cove Police say that at 12:!5 p.m., a 911-caller reported that a man with a knife was assaulting someone on Craft Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered a female, age 17, with a swollen and bruised eye, facial bruises and a lacerated lip, and arrested her 19-year-old ex-boyfriend.
Police allege that the man unlawfully entered the home by climbing through an unlocked window. Police also say that once inside the home, the man surprised his ex-girlfriend and assaulted her. The man threatened her with a large kitchen knife and a broken plate and said he would choke her with a phone charging cable, according to police.

The man, whose name was not released by police, was charged with first-degree burglary, third-degree assault, three counts of second-degree menacing, and three counts of possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
The woman was treated for her injuries.

The man was arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead. He is held on $25,000 cash bail.
