According to police, the resident said that two of the men were armed with handguns and demanded money. The victim was "pistol-whipped about the head and suffered cuts and bruises to his head and face," according to a news release.

During the investigation, one of the suspects was believed to be in a home on Carpenter Street in Glen Cove. Glen Cove Police, with the assistance of Nassau County Bureau of Special Operations, responded to the scene. Police set up a perimeter around the house, but it was later determined that the suspect was not present at that location, police said.
