Speed Cited in Fatal Accident

One passenger remains hospitalized after Sea Cliff Avenue crash.

Speed was a factor in a fatal accident on Sea Cliff Avenue last week, said Monday.

Lt. Tom Fitzpatrick said the investigation is complete, pending toxicology results from the medical examiner's office.

Diana A. Pereyra, 20, of New Cassel, was driving a 2005 Toyota Scion east on Sea Cliff Avenue late Thursday night when it struck a wall and utility pole before overturning.

Two of three people injured in the accident have been released from the hospital,  police said.

The fourth, identified as a 19-year-old man from New Hyde Park, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
