Storm's Havoc Continues in the City

Days of soaking rains still causing problems for some Glen Cove residents.

A few residents in Glen Cove are still suffering from the aftermath of this week's rainstorm.

The storm, which hit the city on Monday and continued until Wednesday morning, brought more than four inches of rain to the city, leaving many residents with flooded streets and damaged phone lines.

But the storm's destruction has not stopped there. The heavy rains have also caused mudslides at some hill properties in the city.

City police put caution tape around parts of a home on Shore Road this morning after it was hit with several pounds of mud from a slide that started at a residence above it on Allen Street.

Residents of both homes could not be reached for a comment, but, police said, no one was injured in the incident.
